The only reason I didn't give this a full five stars is because I wasn't able to eat so I could not honestly tell you how the food was. All of the wait staff were masks although none of the patrons did. I'm impressed with the method that they use of turning the napkin container on its side with a sign that says "this table has not been sanitized", so that the cleaners know exactly where to go. I used the bathroom while I was here, and it was spotless, and anytime a table was emptied there was somebody right there cleaning it immediately. And the kids found plenty to keep them enticed. I was unable to eat because of multiple food allergies, but the rest of the people in my group said the food was good. We were able to get through the check-in line quickly, we were treated courteously, everything was clean, and the waitresses and waiters absolutely hustled! The young lady that helped our table was amazing she was personable, and she was kind to the children in our group. It was on the Sunday after Christmas, so it was very crowded. My family got together for Christmas for the first time in years, and we came to Golden Corral because this is where our late mother used to love to eat. Thankyou Chloe for making our evening just perfect & to Wilder’s your food and service is second to none - if we are ever in the area again we will for sure return. We sat and finished our wine before ordering coffee and dessert- we were never rushed.įor dessert we shared the bourbon pecan pie a la mode - delicious! We also ordered a bottle of Bordeaux - the wine list has a variety of wines /prices.Įverything was served perfectly with wonderful attention to detail, both steaks were medium rare as ordered. My husband had the ribeye with the garlic mashed. For dinner I had the DuPont - an 8oz filet topped with onions, mushrooms and Gruyère cheese and Caesar salad as my side. We started with cocktails and shared a shrimp cocktail (4 huge shrimp). I am usually opposed to booths but this was not the type where you sink so the table is up to your chin and the person opposite seems a mile away! The seats sat high and the table was narrower so you could easily chat! We did not have a reservation but were quickly seated. From the moment we entered it was the type of experience one wants to remember over and over. At first we wondered if it was even open but then saw others go in. We had a one night stay in Joplin and found Wilder’s on Yelp. This speaks volumes about the meticulous care that Wilder's staff and management place in their work. This was not of extreme monetary value, but she recognized that it likely had sentimental value to someone and made the extra effort that eventually reunited it with its very happy owner. I would like to note the special attention given by Marsha, who went above and beyond to return a lost item of jewelry. The dinner was a perfect coda for my son's birthday celebration! Wilder's is a great choice, whether for a cozy evening for two or a special celebration with a group of family and friends. The cauliflower au gratin is a great side dish - a cheesy, generous portion. Steaks are the highlights (tasty, tender, cooked to perfection), but the Chilean sea bass and shrimp/scampi selections were also big hits. All were impressed with impeccable service (including patience and kindness with children), a warm and inviting milieu and, of course, delectable food and drinks. It never fails to delight! Last week we had the pleasure of introducing Wilder's to other MI family members who were also visiting Joplin.

We have visited Wilder's several times over the past four years while visiting from Michigan to see my son and daughter-in-law. Food was great ruined by poor business practices

Our server actually got a little less tip because of her employer's way getting us to tip.

I will not accept that added tip is because some people don't tip! I will not be forced to pay what has been and still should be considered a gift. I will not have a restaurant dictating if I tip or not. I could tell she was aware of the added tip to our bill by her reaction. I picked up my 15.00 but mentioned to the server why I picked up my table tip, not wanting her to think she did something wrong. Since when is it my place to pay this restaurants wages to their servers. I googled OG tips company does this whether one person or 10 eat. If I hadn't had time while drinking a coffee to look at my emailed receipt, I wouldn't have noticed the 13.41 added to our check. I almost missed the 13.41 cent tip being 18% added to our check. I believe restaurants using tips as wages is just wrong!! She asked us to pay with the kiosk. That way the server can claim their tip or not. My husband and I always tip and tip well. I understand restaurants adding a tip for large parties. Our sever was what made everything great.
